An unsettling video from a Nigerian prison has taken social media by storm, shedding light on the deplorable conditions inmates face and igniting a nationwide conversation on prison reform and human rights.
The short clip showed hundreds of inmates sleeping on the floor of the cell leaving many raising their concerns about the condition of the “correctional centre”
It also showed how each inmate was given barely a spoonful of beans and one of them was heard informing in the background that it was all they would have throughout that day.
As the video continues to circulate on social media, Nigerians have shared their disappointment, uncomfortability and concerns at the living conditions of these inmates as they all call the government’s attention to this.
