The University of Lagos (UNILAG), has increased the tuition fees for undergraduates once again.
Ikejabird confirmed that the fee increment was noticed by students of the department of Mass Communication on Friday.
The school management implemented an additional N40,000 fee for Lab, as well as obligatory fees of N5,000 and N10,000 for the 2019/2020 and 2021/2022 academic sessions respectively.

The fee rose from a sum of N160,250 to N176,250.
Recall that the school management recently issued a statement refuting the rumors of any additional fees.
“Management is not unmindful of the prevailing economic realities and, as of the date of this disclaimer, has not issued any other notice of increment apart from the “Adjusted Obligatory Fees for New and Returning Undergraduate Students.”
The students are awaiting further updates from the school to determine whether the fee increment is indeed final or just a technical error.

Meanwhile, the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State, has reportedly increased the fees for undergraduate students.
According to a statement from the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (UNILAG branch), the Vice-Chancellor disclosed the new fees during a meeting with the top management staff. Students are upset about the unexpected and significant increase in school fees at Unilag, the highest ever in the school’s history.
The issue has become a hot topic on social media, with many Nigerians expressing their concerns and seeking assistance.
