It’s no secret that Nigerians have achieved remarkable feats in the movie industry. Day by day, their talents continue to reach new heights, making Nigeria proud on even global stages.
And when it comes to the world-renowned Hollywood industry, Nigerian individuals have undoubtedly left a mark with their exceptional skills as actors and even directors.
However, besides the famous Nigerians like David Oyelowo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and John Boyega, there are other unfamous Nigerians who have and are still carving a name for themselves and impacting the Hollywood industry.
Here are four(4) unfamous Nigerians impacting Hollywood industry:

BOLA OGUN: Bola is a Nigerian-American Film and TV director. She started her journey in the industry as a production assistant and scriptwriter, and eventually made her mark as a director.
One of her notable achievements was co-writing and co-producing the short film “Are We Good Parents?” in 2018, which received recognition and awards like Best Short Film and Best Emerging Filmmaker at the AT&T SHAPE Awards.
Bola has directed numerous films and series, including popular ones like Netflix’s “Shadow & Bone,” “Raising Dion,” “Lucifer,” “Charmed,” “Siren,” “Walker,” “Legacies,” “Big Shot,” “Two Sentence Horror Stories,” and even the last two episodes of “The Witcher.” Although she’s not widely known, especially in Nigeria, she work speaks of her talent.
MARTINS ISOKEN IMHANGBE: Martins is a talented British-Nigerian actor born in Southeast London, England.
He gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Will Mondrich in the immensely popular Netflix series “Bridgerton.” In addition to his role in “Bridgerton,” Martins has received critical acclaim for his performance in “The Tragedy of King Richard II,” for which he was commended in the Ian Charleson Award 2019.
He has also acted in stage plays. Some of his movies include; The Last British Execution, and Samuel’s Trousers.
UZOAMAKA ADUBA: Uzoamaka, a Nigerian-American actress born in Boston, Massachusetts, has made quite a name for herself. She became widely known for her role in the Netflix original series “Orange Is the New Black,” where she showcased her incredible talent.
She made history by winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, followed by another Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She has featured in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, Tallulah, amongst others.
Even though Uzoamaka grew up and currently resides outside of Nigeria, she remains deeply connected to her Nigerian roots and proudly promotes the culture.
ADEPERO ODUYE: Adepero is an American actress, director, and writer born in Brooklyn, New York. She gained widespread recognition for her role in the 2011 film “Pariah.” She also appeared alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor and Lupita Nyong’o in the acclaimed movie “12 Years a Slave.”
Her exceptional talent has earned her awards like the Black Reel Award for Best Actress and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture.
Additionally, she has showcased her skills in projects like “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” “Law & Order,” “The Big Short,” “Widows,” “When They See Us,” and more.
