Ukraine/ Russia crisis: Nigerians to arrive  Abuja  today

Nigerians are expected to leave crisis-hit Ukraine and jet back to the country(today) Friday.

This followed the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

IkejaBird gathered that jets from Nigerian airlines, Max Air and Air Peace, had arrived Poland and Romania on Thursday for the evacuation.

Checks revealed that Air Peace aircraft was stationed in Warsaw, the Polish capital, while Max Air berth in Romania.

Sources said about 5,000 Nigerians would be eligible for evacuation.

The flight from Poland was reportedly delayed on Thursday following delay in preparation of passengers for check-in, according to a foreign affairs ministry official, Bolaji Akinremi.

The Polish flight, however, was rescheduled for Friday morning.

Those from Romania are reportedly billed to arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja between 3am and 4am on Friday morning.

The Federal Government said on Wednesday that it had approved $8.5m for the evacuation of Nigerians.
