A Nigerian doctor residing in the United Kingdom has lost custody of his 16-year-old son to the government following an incident where he disciplined the boy with a belt.
On Wednesday, on her Instagram page, pepstalk1, a child rights advocate posted about the issue
According to her, the doctor had punished his son after catching him and his friends watching an inappropriate video while they were meant to be studying together.

What happened?
The son’s friends reported the incident to the police, claiming that the father repeatedly said during the punishment, “Is this how you want to become a doctor?”
In a video shared by pepstalk1, she can be seen in front of the court where the case was being heard, providing details of the situation.
During the court proceedings, the 16-year-old testified that his father frequently disciplined him and forced him to pursue a career path he had no interest in.
After considering the boy’s testimony, the court decided to remove him from his father’s custody, placing him under child.
