President Bola Tinubu has brought smiles to the faces of many as he marked his 100th day in office by approving the appointment of mandate secretaries for the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
This significant development was disclosed in an official statement released by the Presidency on Tuesday, September 5.
Notably, these appointments coincide with the exact 100th day since he assumed office as President of Nigeria.

He also went for the G-20 leaders summit
In a surprising twist of events, it was revealed that President Tinubu, just about 24 hours after making these appointments, embarked on a diplomatic mission.
He traveled to New Delhi, India, where he was invited to attend the G-20 leaders’ summit by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
This international engagement underscores Nigeria’s active participation in global affairs.
Newly appointed mandate secretaries
The newly appointed mandate secretaries of the Federal Capital Territory Administration are as follows:
- Bitrus L. Garki – Secretary, Area Council Services Secretariat
- Lawan Kolo Geidam – Secretary, Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat
- Danlami Ihayyo – Secretary, Education
- Adedolapo A. Fasawe – Secretary, Health and Human Services Secretariat
- Salman Dako – Secretary, Legal Services Secretariat
- Chinedum Elechi – Secretary, Economic Planning, Revenue Generation, and PPP
- Uboku Tom Nyah – Secretary, Transportation Secretariat
- Muntari Abdulkadir – Secretary, Social Development Secretariat
These appointments are expected to contribute to the efficient governance and administration of the Federal Capital Territory, ensuring the delivery of essential services to the residents and stakeholders in the region.

Tinubu to address United Nations General Assembly on the 19th of September
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu is set to make his debut on the global stage as he addresses the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Tuesday, September 19.
Tinubu’s speech is scheduled for the evening session, making him the fifth African leader to take the floor on the first day of the Assembly’s gathering.
He will be among a total of 20 leaders delivering speeches on the opening day.
