Chinese President Xi Jinping met with former U.S. diplomat Henry Kissinger in Beijing to discuss improving relations between China and the United States.
Xi emphasized the importance of their friendship and mentioned Kissinger’s crucial role in normalizing ties between the two nations in the 1970s.
During the meeting at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, Xi expressed gratitude for Kissinger’s frequent visits to China and acknowledged the significance of his 100th birthday celebration.

China and the U.S. are at a crossroads
Both leaders acknowledged that the relationship between China and the U.S. is vital for world peace and human progress.
They discussed finding a way to improve their current strained relationship, agreeing to follow the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation.
Kissinger also held meetings with China’s top diplomat Wang Yi and defense minister Li Shangfu during his visit.
In recent times, efforts to reestablish communication channels have been made, with high-profile diplomatic visits from U.S. presidential envoy John Kerry on climate change and Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s trip to Beijing last month.

Reno Omokri reacts to President Tinubu greeting Oba of Benin
Reno Omokri recently made reference to the way the President greeted the Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin, with respect.
In the picture that Reno Omokri was referring to, President Tinubu can be seen respectfully bowing his head to greet the Oba of Benin.
Omokri also explained that the Oba of Benin doesn’t attend many social events, which makes his presence more special and this adds value to his position as a monarch.
