Former Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi, who used to play for Chelsea, playfully teased his former teammates Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba because they didn’t invite him to Cote d’Ivoire.
The reason for this was an upcoming event, the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations draws, happening in Cote d’Ivoire.
Mikel shared a video of his trip to Cote d’Ivoire, showing the beautiful scenery of the country and jokingly accusing Kalou and Drogba of being ‘stingy’ for not inviting him.

Many retired players, like Rainford Kalaba from Zambia, who helped his team win in 2012, will also be at the AFCON draws.
Mikel was part of the team that won Nigeria’s third AFCON title in 2013.

In the draws, Nigeria is in pot two along with Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and DR Congo.
This means there’s a chance that Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire, and Zambia might end up in the same group. The event will happen in the capital city, Abidjan.
