He expressed his concern about when Nigeria will begin to celebrate people like Ngozi for her honesty and Teacher Akeem Badru, who was awarded the 2023 Cambridge Dedicated Teacher prize.
He added, “These are the people who deserve to be given national honours and awards and recognition, instead of celebrating those who have impacted our nation negatively. In the New Nigeria that we desire, these are the kind of people that will be celebrated. A New Nigeria is possible.”
Reactions: There’s goodness in Nigeria
Nigerians have applauded Ngozi for her honesty and integrity, and have also commended Peter Obi for recognizing her actions.
@Timiglow: Only in Nigeria, we celebrate our oppressors while those fighting against the oppression are seen as enemy of the country. Thank you sir for bringing light to this news and celebrating this amazing woman. With you at the leadership affairs of Nigeria, I’m certain Nigerians going to be happy again and Nigeria going to be GREAT as well
@jollynony: Spot on. In order to make honesty part of our national ethos, we must loudly celebrate every act of honesty. Paying lip service to virtue while we reward bad behaviour and impunity will keep us in the doldrums forever.
@ipcjustice: His tweets about Miss Ngozi Mary and Teacher Akeem Badru serve as powerful reminders that there is still goodness in Nigeria, and that we should direct our focus towards celebrating the good people of our country.
@AddyAdeyemi: If na agbado person that money don enter voicemail be that. Well done to Ngozi Mary… well done to our amiable incoming presido.
