There is nothing that is unsettling: Ex-acting APC chairman reacts to recent resignations | Ikejabird.com

Former acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hilliard Eta, responded to the recent resignations of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore, and addressed speculations of party turmoil and endorsements.

He specifically stated:

“Turmoil means not settled. There is nothing that is not settled. The chairman has resigned; it is settled. The secretary has resigned; it is settled. The president, governors and NWC are looking for replacements; it is settled. There is nothing that is unsettling.”

In response to these resignations, Eta, the Governing Council chairman of the Institute for Progressive Affairs, stated that they were voluntary and in line with the party’s constitution, adding that there were no issues that could threaten the party’s existence.

It has not been confirmed

Regarding the alleged endorsement of former Kano Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Eta clarified that there was no confirmed report on this matter.

He mentioned that unless Ganduje, the former National Vice Chairman for South-South or President Tinubu openly confirm the endorsement, it remains a matter of speculation.

Addressing the reports of declining support for the APC, Eta disagreed with the notion, pointing out that the party won the recent presidential election and believed the best way to gauge support was through elections.

The presidential tribunal will uphold the election

He expressed confidence that the presidential tribunal would uphold the election results and also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to its progressive ideals.

He also stated:

“Let me say that there are no researches to show whether Nigerians are against the APC or not. But we, as politicians, believe the best way to know is through an election. And we just won the presidential election. I assure you that the presidential tribunal will uphold the election.”

Eta further confirmed that the Institute for Progressive Affairs, of which he is the Governing Council chairman, is collaborating with the party’s leadership to celebrate the APC’s 10th anniversary on July 31.

He praised the party’s achievements since its establishment in 2013, highlighting its success in defeating a long-standing political party in 2015 and securing victories in subsequent national and state elections.
