Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu, has shared his opinion on the current argument between his fellow comedians, AY and Basketmouth.

AY and Basketmouth are two very popular comedians in Nigeria but recently, they have been in the news because of a disagreement they had years ago. AY said that the argument started because of a N30,000 job.

He spoke with Chude Jideonwo during an interview and said that his problem with Basketmouth started in 2006. He claimed that Basketmouth didn’t pay him the N30,000 they agreed on for taking his place at a show.

Basketmouth said that he was never friends with AY and disagreed with many of the things AY said in his interview with Chude Jideonwo, stating that they were not true. 

During an interview with Naija FM, Julius Agwu was asked about the argument between AY and Basketmouth. He said that he thinks there is more to it than just the N30,000 that was mentioned.

Julius Agwu talked about his relationship with AY and remembered calling him to ask if he could change the date of his yearly Easter Sunday comedy show because it was the same day as his own show, but AY hung the phone on him.

Basketmouth denies friendship with AY 

In a recent episode of “The Honest Bunch Podcast,” Bright Okpocha, a popular Nigerian comedian also known as Basketmouth, shared his perspective on his supposed friendship with fellow comedian and actor Ayo Makun, better known as AY.

When asked about his friendship with AY, Basketmouth openly revealed that they have never been friends.

He clarified that they have never hung out or performed together, indicating that there is no close relationship between them.
