Maruf Abdullahi, Nigerian skit maker popularly known as Trinity Guy, has been ordered by the Family Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, to remain in Agodi Prison in Ibadan, Oyo State, until August 3.
The court’s decision, issued by Magistrate Mrs P.O. Adetuyibi on July 11, 2023, resulted from allegations of sexual abuse involving a 10-year-old girl.
The Magistrate, Mrs P O Adetuyibi, also ordered the parents of the child, Abdullahi Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat Ahmed, 29, to remain in Agodi while adjourning the case till August 3.

He is liable to 15 years imprisonment
If Maruf Abdullahi, the skit maker, is found guilty of the offence, he could face up to 15 years of imprisonment as prescribed by the Child Rights Law of 2006.
During the court proceedings, Inspector Oluwakemi Arowosaye, the prosecution’s attorney, informed the court that Abdullahi, Isiaka Ahmed, and his wife, Rofiat had allegedly conspired to engage in sexual misconduct.
The alleged offence violates Section 35(1) of the Oyo State Child Rights Law 2006 and carries punishment as stipulated under Section 35(2) of the same law.

Court Orders Remand Of Popular Nigerian Skit Maker, ‘Trinity Guy’ In Prison
In another news, A magistrate court in Ibadan has ordered the remand of a popular skit maker known as “Trinity Guy” in prison for allegedly sexualizing a young girl in a video.
The police have accused Trinity Guy of sexually exploiting a minor in a viral video. In the video, he asked a young girl to describe his private parts. As a result, Trinity Guy has been charged and brought to court.
During the court proceedings, Trinity Guy’s lawyer, Oludare Adebayo, requested that his client be released. However, the magistrate judge, P.O Adetuyibi, rejected the plea.
