The Nigerian ambassador to Spain, Demola Seriki, has died.
Family source confirmed Seriki’s death, saying the respected envoy passed away “surrounded by his family” on Thursday, December 15.
“It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude to Almighty Allah that we announce the loss of our much loved and admired patriarch, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend,” the statement read.
Makinde Araoye, a friend and mentee to the deceased, also confirmed his death in a post sighted by Ikejabird on Twitter on Thursday.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I am saddened by the death of my Father, my Friend, my Mentor, my Man, His Excellency, Demola Seriki @DemolaSeriki, the Ambassador of Nigeria to Spain. May Allah SWT comfort our family, forgive his sins and grant him AlJannah Firdaus. Ameen,” the verified tweep @mkdAraoye wrote.
Seriki who died at the age of 63 was born on November 30, 1959. Before his demise, he was a member of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
