A recent survey has sparked controversy on social media after it concluded that 62% of Nigerians are convinced that the country will move forward under President Tinubu’s administration.
The survey was conducted by CMC Connect LLP, Lagos-based public perception consulting and strategic communication firm, in partnership with Analysts Data Services and Resources (ADSR).
It revealed that 62% of Nigerians, as opposed to 38% believe that the country will progress under Tinubu’s administration, despite the current economic hardship.
In total, 1,714 respondents from all six geopolitical regions of the nation responded to the survey and provided their thoughts on Tinubu’s first 60 days in office.
They shared their dissatisfaction with the 60 days, but they’re more optimistic about the future.
Reactions:
Many Nigerians however disagreed with the survey, claiming that it was rigged to favour Tinubu. Here are some reactions:
@firstladyship: While Nigerians are still struggling to afford the N620 per liter, the FG & oil marketers are planning to hike fuel pump price to N720. Look at this. Can you justify the wickedness of the leaders in Nigeria? Show me the 62% of Nigerians that are happy with the APC?
@democracy_watch: For a party that didnt get 10% of the population to vote for their candidate, how is it possible that now 62% of Nigerians suddenly believe in your already failed government?
@DanielRegha: The 62% of Nigerians applauding Tinubu’s regime are delusiona!. The country isn’t only a mess, but has gone from bad to worse under Tinubu’s administration; No pressing issue has been addressed since May, & Nigeria might be at war with Niger soon due to ECOWAS’ hasty decision.
@AbbaM_Abiyos: Where did they get that report of 62% of Nigerians believed that this Tinubu administration is moving forward. Renewed Shege wey people can’t eat meal 3x per day is the forward?
@A_Y_Rafindadi: it’s comforting that the hardships are due to good policies, but 62% of Nigerians, are grappling to make ends meet. Even among the remaining percentage, there are those who are also putting on a brave face while dealing with life’s challenges, but new Nigeria is promising.
This is one of the most free and fair elections: Tinubu praises fairness of 2023 presidential election
In other news, in a recent speech at the first National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu expressed his belief that the 2023 presidential election was one of the most credible in Nigeria’s history.
Despite facing legal challenges from opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and Allied People’s Movement (APM), Tinubu remains confident in the fairness of the election.
During the meeting, Tinubu urged party members to unite and focus on the development and progress of the country.
