A human rights lawyer based in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Pelumi Olajengbesi says, Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho) will be released soon from prison.
This was contained in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday.
Olajengbesi wrote: “Chief Sunday Igboho will be out very soon and there will be massive jubilation across the entire Yoruba land.
“He is no doubt a courageous man.
“This is very authoritative just that our Yoruba leaders should stop being selfish and allow good to prevail.”
Olajengbesi had resigned from the team of Igboho’s lawyers.
The Yoruba Nation agitator fled Nigeria for Benin Republic after he was declared wanted by the Federal Government.
Igboho was arrested at an airport in Cotonou by the West Africa’s nation security personnel while he attempted fleeing to Germany in July 2020. He has been in detention in Benin Republic since then.
Sources said he had spent more than 200 days in Benin Republic prison.
