Seun Kuti, a Nigerian Afrobeat musician’s trial in court has been stalled after the Chief Magistrate of the Yaba court, Adeola Olatubosun was absent.

Recall that Seun Kuti was arraigned on May 16, 2023, after the video of the assault on a police officer was captured and reached the net.

Following the non-appearance of the judge, the registrar, Mr Babalola who represented the magistrate announced the case was adjourned to September 27, 2023.

According to him, the magistrate took an administrative leave and will be absent in the meantime in court.

Meanwhile, the Magistrate on May 24 adjourned the case till July 3 after she stated that he needed the advice of the DPP to either prosecute him or not.

However, today in which the case was adjourned the Magistrate didn’t show up leaving the case till September 27.

Seun Kuti arrested and in handcuffs for assaulting a police officer

In other news, Seun Kuti was put in handcuffs and arrested following his assault on a police officer.

In a video that was making rounds on the internet, the grammy award nominee was captured violently assaulting a police officer who was very calm and didn’t react at all to his assault.

Following the video, Suen Kuti took to his Instagram story to explain why he had reacted like that when many Nigerians stood up in defence of the Police officer.
