Spanish FA  president hugged and kissed one of the players who helped Spain win the World Cup.

 The Spanish players got on stage after winning against the Lionesses at Stadium Australia. They got gold medals from FIFA’s president, Gianni Infantino, after they beat England 1-0 in the final match of the day.

A famous Spanish player named Jenni Hermoso and her teammates were congratulated by important people, including Queen Letizia, who wore red to support her country’s team.

Spanish FA president kisses Hermoso

Spanish FA  president, Luis Rubiales also came on the stage. He put his arms around Jenni Hermoso and gave her a big hug while saying something in her ear.

After that, he put his hands on the back of her head and kissed her on the mouth. Jenni Hermoso was later asked about the hug and kiss by a Spanish TV station called La 1. She seemed a bit uncomfortable and said she didn’t really like it.

Football fans criticise Spanish FA president

The kiss’s video became popular online after it was shown on TV. Some people who support the team said that the president’s behavior wasn’t right.

Government minister Irene Montero said: “It’s a form of sexual violence women suffer on a daily basis.”

 Jenni Hermoso is 33 years old and one of the most well-known players in women’s soccer worldwide.

 She’s been playing for almost 20 years and has been successful in different top Spanish soccer clubs like Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Rayo Vallecano. 

She has also played for important European teams like Tyreso from Sweden and Paris Saint-Germain.

What Hermoso said about Rubiales’ kiss?

Confusion and anger towards Rubiales are growing on social media. 

 Hermoso was very clear; she posted a funny video playing down what had just happened, saying, “Hey! But I didn’t like it,” as she appeared to be laughing at the situation.

Spain wins first world cup title with victory over England

In another news, Spain won their first World Cup title with Olga Carmona’s goal in the 29th minute.

 They beat England by taking advantage of turnovers and scoring through Carmona after a pass from Mariona Caldentey.

Spain’s victory completes a treble, as they had previously won the Under-20 and U-18 World Cups last year.
