Video footage has emerged showing Spanish head coach Jorge Vilda allegedly touching a female staff member inappropriately during the Women’s World Cup final between Spain and England.

The incident occurred as the Spanish staff celebrated a goal, with Vilda’s hand appearing to linger on the staff member’s breast.

Vilda’s leadership has sparked division within his team, evident in his on-field celebrations being ignored by players after their quarterfinal victory and a handshake snub from Spanish star Alexia Putellas during the semi-final.

Other allegations against Vilda

Despite achieving success, tensions have risen between Vilda and his players throughout his tenure.

Following a defeat by England in the Euro 2022 quarterfinals, players held a video call with Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Federation (RFEF), expressing dissatisfaction with their preparation, tactics, and training methods under Vilda.

Allegations suggest Vilda maintained excessive control, requiring players to keep their room doors open until midnight and check their bags after shopping trips.

Despite certain practices being abandoned after the 2019 World Cup, strict surveillance and restrictions on movement continue to prevail within the team camp.

People are not reacting well to these allegations as coach Vilda is under serious scrutiny because of these allegations.
