Many ladies dread acne. A lot of them are self-conscious such that they believe the saying: “our face is our billboard.” They desire a clear skin void of pimples and black spots. In a bid to achieve that, they make use of varieties of soaps, creams, glow oil and scrubs or masks. But purchasing all these can be very costly if they have to use regularly.
Fortunately you can save yourself the expense of buying face scrubs by making the honey and turmeric face scrub which exfoliates the face. It provides you with glowing skin and is simple to make at home.
People around me began to notice the effects after three weeks of use. Turmeric cannot only be used with honey, but apple cider vinegar, yogurt, or aloe.
BENEFITS
Turmeric and honey have been used as natural treatments for a range of diseases for ages. They have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial qualities that are beneficial to the skin. Turmeric aids in the treatment of acne, the reduction of dark circles (hyperpigmentation), and the removal of dead skin. It can be used on the face and other parts of the body. It is also used to cure wrinkles and skin irritation.
Honey is a natural antioxidant with anti-inflammatory effects that can help keep acne at bay. When applied to the face, it helps to open up the skin pores which aids the removal of blackheads.
“My mother introduced the scrub to me, but I thought it was one of her local remedies that wouldn’t work. However, after using it for about a month – three days in a week, I and my friends noticed that my face started getting brighter. It’s so convenient for me,” said Dera.
HOW TO MAKE IT
Mix a tablespoon of ground(dried) turmeric and honey in a small bowl or cup and stir until it forms a paste. You can always use the leftover the following day if stored properly.
HOW TO USE
Wash your face with soap and water to eliminate any oil and dirt, then dry with a towel. Apply the scrub all over your face and leave it for 20 minutes. Be careful because the turmeric stains. Wash using lukewarm water to remove the colour from the face. Some also prefer using milk/yogurt to wash their face.
However, it is advisable to do this at night to increase the efficiency of the skin cell turnover.
