Veteran American rapper cum actor, Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., popularly known as Snoop Dogg, has quit smoking.
Ikejabird reports that the hip-hop legend announced his decision in a terse statement shared via his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday.
According to Snoop Dogg, he decided to give up the addiction after much consideration and conversation with his family. He also urged the public to respect his privacy.
He wrote: “After much consideration and conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.”

Snoop Dogg is 52 years old. His fame dates back to 1992 when he featured on Dr. Dre’s debut solo single, “Deep Cover”, and then on Dre’s debut solo album, The Chronic.
He has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide. His accolades include an American Music Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and 17 nominations at the Grammy Awards.
