The sister of one of the victims who died at Asake’s concert in London has criticized him for using her sister’s image during his recent concert.
Rebecca Ikumelo, 33, of Newham, east London, and security worker Gaby Hutchinson, 23, from Gravesend, Kent lost their lives in a crash outside the O2 Academy Brixton in December 2022.
Following this devastating news, the singer shared his condolence messages to the loved ones of Rebecca as he confessed that they were still awaiting a response from the venue management.

Asake in his recent concert in London, on the 20th of August, paid tribute to the women who died in his last concert as he shared images of them.
However, his action did not sit well with Rebecca’s sister, Rachael who called him out for holding a concert less than 9 months after her sister’s death.
She also argued that ever since the incident, not once did the singer reach out to the family to express his condolences and he didn’t even ask the family for permission before putting her pictures out there.
“What a sorry excuse of a “tribute” from @asakemusik. My sister lost her life at your show and you haven’t spoken to a single member of my family since. But you can hold another concert in London less than 9 months later and play her videos as a “tribute”? RIP Rebecca Ikumelo,” she said.
