Following Beyonce and Adidas launch of a new clothing line, reports have shown that there has been weak sales that has left a £200 million hole on the market.
Beyonce, who recently became the most decorated artist in Grammy history is finding it hard to break into the clothing market after humongous investment from Adidas.
The partnership with Ivy Park, Beyonce’s brand and Adidas has produced a size inclusive, unisex wears for kids and adults.
According to a Wall Street report, sales have dropped by 40% since launch in Dubai last year. It is below £250 million that was projected by the company.
“In five of the last six Ivy Park releases, roughly half of the merchandise that was produced went unsold, the documents show,” the outlet was quoted to have said.
Beyonce’s clothing line’s dip in sales has sparked conversation about whether Adidas should terminate its partnership with Kanye West.
Following a controversial comment from Kanye West last year, Adidas immediately put an end to its partnership with the Black American artists.
The clothing line collaboration between the two that spanned years had been largely successful.
