His statement received lots of backlash from Nigerians, and was even condemned by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA).

After being confronted by Big Brother, Seyi Awolowo apologized to both the general public and his fellow housemates for his statement.

In a recent interview with Ebuka after his exit from the reality show, Seyi admitted in tears that he fumbled and apologized again to his family and the public.

He said, “What I said was really really nasty. That was like the bottom of the bottom type of nasty kind of stuff and I’m really sorry and I don’t even know what else I could do, but say sorry.

“I live for my family, and it’s almost as if I don’t know how I’m going to go from here, cause that’s the kind of thing that just makes you toxic material for any brand or anybody. I’m just confused.”

He explained that the energy and the stress in the house got to him, hence the statement.

“I was venting at the wrong time, in the wrong way. Yes, I’m human and I have the right to make mistakes, but for myself, that was…nah.”
