Group A and B completed their first round of matches and the round of 16 pairings have emerged.
Senegal vs Ecuador
Ismail Sarr and Kalidou Koulibally were on target as the Teranga Lions defeated Ecuador 2-1.
The Netherlands finished as Group A winners following a 2-0 win over hosts Qatar who went home without a point.
Cody Gakpo and Frenkiede Jong were the scorers in both half of the game.
England vs Wales
The Three Lions beame the highest scoring team at the World Cup with nine goals following a 3-0 win over their neighbors.
All three goals were scored in the second half with Marcus Rashford grabbing a brace including England’s 100th goal at World Cup while Phil Foden also got his name on the scoresheet.
USA vs Iran
The United States knew a win would secure their qualification into the next round without any doubt as they recorded a slender 1-0 win over Iran.
Christian Pulisic’s first half goal.was enough for the US to progress as they face the Netherlands in the round of 16.
