Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo will be wearing the captain’s band in his first match against Lionel Messi’s PSG on January 19.
According to Marca, the 38-year-old will lead a selected team comprising both Al Hilal and Al Nassr players. Both clubs are the two best teams in Saudi Arabian league.
The selected team from both side will face PSG in a friendly that will hopefully, if both are fit, guarantee fans another fun filled duel between the two of the most loved players in the world.
It was widely reported when the 5 time Ballon D’or winner joined the Saudi club on a record fee of £200 million a few weeks ago.
Ronaldo is yet to play his first match and club fans anticipate to watch him live in action.
Lionel Messi’s post-world cup life has generally been positive. He had a week long rest after winning the grand trophy. Thereafter, he scored in his club match against Angers last week.
IkejaBird earlier reported that Al Hilal made a proposal to buy the 7 time Ballon D’or winner for £400 million. However, PSG has insisted that they want Messi to stay for another year.
