Cristiano Ronaldo has been finally be let off the hook by Premier League club Manchester United.

This comes days after the Portuguese striker made scathing remarks about the Red Devils during a comprehensive interview with Piers Morgan.

Both parties agreed to go their separate ways and Ronaldo is now a free agent.

With the January transfer window in sight, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has been linked with several clubs in Europe including former side Real Madrid.

CR7 returned to United in the summer of 2021 with the hopes of helping the Red Devils rebuild their squad.

The 37-years-old scored a remarkable 20 goals but United finished in sixth position at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

After Erik Ten Haag was appointed, many felt Ronaldo and the Dutch tactician would flourish under the new management.

However, things went south as CR7 refused to travel with the team for pre-season claiming his baby was sick.

It was one of the points Ronaldo made in his interview, claiming he felt betrayed the club for not believing in him and has no respect for Ten Haag.

Speaking about his suspension from the team after walking away during United’s win over Tottenham, Ronaldo expressed disappointment as he was banned few days before the Red Devils traveled to London to play Chelsea.

Ronaldo has had limited playing time under Ten Haag and the Portuguese captain did not score a single goal at the ongoing Premier League this season.

As a result of Ronaldo’s frustrations, all hell was let loose in the 90 minute chat with British TV host Morgan.

The ex-Juventus star also claimed that the club have not upgraded their training facilities to world class standards unlike his former clubs in Italy and Spain

United released a statement threatening to take their employee to court after clips of his interview was released.

Many pundits had predicted doom for the former Real Madrid man and with just three days after kickoff at the World Cup, both player and club reached a mutual agreement to part ways.

It is understood that the Glazier family are also ready to sell the club in the nearest future.

Ronaldo is currently at Qatar in a bid to help Portugal lift their first ever World Cup as they open their Group H encounter with Ghana.
