Multichoice, an entertainment platform, has disclosed the exact date of the next Big Brother show in 2023.
The next show will have housemates from two countries: South Africa and Nigeria. This is the first time that the show would pitch both countries’ housemates together.
This was disclosed in a press briefing on Thursday by Busola Tejumola, Head of Content of Multichoice Nigeria.
She revealed that the show will begin on the 15th of January, 2023. It will be hosted by Ebuka Uche Uchendu, its longtime host and Lawrence Maleka, a Nigerian broadcaster.
In the press briefing, Busola revealed that the show would be held in South Africa. Eventual winner will go home with a grand prize of $100,000.
The show will end on April 2 and it will run for 77 days. Unlike the previous shows, voting will be free on all voting platforms which include MyDSTV, MyGOtv apps and the official website of BBN. Viewers will not be able to vote through SMS in this edition.
John Ugbe, the CEO of Multichoice, said that it would be a mix of BBN’s most watched shows in Africa.
“The long history of rich culture and talent shared by both countries will be brought to life through the Titan housemates in one house.”
“I can only imagine the explosion of drama and intrigue that will ensue, so, imagine ‘Afrobeats’ meeting ‘Amapiano’; imagine the food and everything else that will be showcased; we think this will be quite exciting.”
“We are excited about the special big brother season, and we will reveal more at the right time sometime next year. If you think you have got what it takes to be Biggie’s next reality TV star, this message is for you.” Ugbe said.
