The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has appointed social media influencer, Adedamola Adewale, aka Adeherself as a strategic stakeholder in the anti-graft war.

The anti-graft serves to combat corruption and fraudulent acts across the country.

The EFCC recently disclosed this on Friday, as they extended an invitation to Adeherself to address the issue of corruption at NYSC camp.

“Adewale, who is now a strategic stakeholder in the anti-graft war, gave the charge on Thursday, August 31, 2023, during a sensitization programme organized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, at the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, orientation.”

Adeherself urged youths across the country to shun cyber fraud.

Reactions: Adeherself has a record of fraud

Recall that in 2020, Adeherself was charged with two others for allegedly conspiring to obtain money by false pretenses and retaining proceeds from criminal conduct.

Many Nigerians questioned the decision of EFCC seeing as Adeherself has a record of cyber fraud. Here are some comments:

@biodun_alao: Someday, Hushpuppi will become a strategic stakeholder in the anti-graft war.Nigeria is just a theatre of so many absurdities.

@Iam_Reubeen: She’ll definitely speak from experience.

@biodun_alao: The other day it was Naira Marley and NDLEA.Today, it is Ade herself and EFCC.Maybe tomorrow, we should expect Portable and ICPC.Next, we should expect DJ Chicken and Police?

@ijeoven: All criminals have been called to serve Nigeria.

@thesheddyking: What next, Jennysglow becomes director of NAFDAC?

@UnkleAyo: Not Buhari giving a TedTalk on good governance. You brought Hush puppi’s apprentice to preach about cybercrimes?

@Gbenga4Glory: OMG our country is indeed full of drama.

No one is better suited to take message against drug abuse, NDLEA speaks on Naira Marley

Meanwhile, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has clarified the purpose of Naira Marley’s visit, and refuted any claims of ambassadorship.

The Nigerian singer, Azeez Adeshina aka Naira Marley, on Thursday, visited their HQ and declared his support for the fight against drug abuse.

However, his declaration of support was questioned by the general public, due to his previous involvement with drugs.
