Reactions as Akin Alabi’s Video Shows Constituent’s Loyalty to Tinubu

Akin Alabi, a member of the National Assembly from Oyo State, has been largely dragged over the video he shared on Twitter on Monday.

The House Representative member who is a big supporter of Bola Tinubu, the flag bearer of All Progressive Congress, portrays a grassroot meeting with his constituents.

In a clip that was shared with the caption: “Na we wan campaign, na residents dey preach Asiwaju to us,” a man was seen speaking in Yoruba, speaking about how Tinubu is the best candidate among the 18 other candidates seeking to be elected as president on Saturday.

Social media users react

@SirDavidBent: “Always hard to believe that folks actually rated Akin Alabi because they could actually banter about football with him. Like most politicians, he is a huge benefactor of the present status quo and would never want a New Nigeria. Forget all those his silly motivational books.”

@OLinocxt: “Politics is very interesting. I’ve read Akin Alabi’s books and attended one of his events before I left Nigeria. If someone had told me this is the standard of leadership he regards, I would never believe.”

@Shinaspeaks: “Akin Alabi posted a picture of people in his community and Obidients came out to label them poor. All they do is broke shame people. Still can’t wrap my head around it. If you are not wearing jeans and fake Nike slippers, you’re poor. God abeg.”

@IamPotterJr: “Honestly I rated this guy back then due to how I felt he was intentional about grooming people. These shits I’m seeing from him amazes me, making me question the real person he has been all these while. Nigga trying so hard to please his paymaster not caring about his reputation.”

@FS_Yusuf: “I’m happy yall are finally telling Akin Alabi d truth & dragging him by d balls. Many of y’all were shinning teeth with him bcos of some boogie street credibility, football banters and political office. I’m glad y’all seeing through those shenanigans. Heartless politicians.”
