President Bola Tinubu recently had an important meeting on Wednesday night with key leaders to address the problems caused by removing fuel subsidy in Nigeria.
Some of these key leaders are the Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and members of the Nigeria Governors Forum, came together to finalize arrangements for the distribution of palliatives.
To help those affected, President Tinubu and his team discussed ways to give aid packages, called palliatives, to the people who need them.

Farming is our next step
The meeting also looked at ways to make sure farmers have enough grains and fertilizers to boost food production.
The government wants to find ways to make things better for Nigerians during this tough time, and they are working hard to figure out the best solutions.

Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu wrote a letter to the House of Representatives, urging an amendment to the 2022 supplementary appropriation Act in order to enable the Federal Government acquire N500 billion to provide palliatives aimed at alleviating the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.
During Wednesday’s plenary session, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas read President Tinubu’s letter on the floor of the House.
The letter, titled “Request for the amendment of the 2022 appropriation act,” explained the necessity of sourcing funds to address the consequences of the recent removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.
