The family of the former emir of Kano state Sanusi Lamido Sanusi were filled with happiness when one of their daughters Hafsat Sanusi graduated from SOAS University on Wednesday.
Hafsat Sanusi completed her masters degree in Law from the offshore university to mark another post-graduate degree holder in the family.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria governor who was present at the event was later seen with her daughter posing together in front of the camera.
Hafsat Sanusi may have taken the attention of the media on her graduation day but she is not the first daughter of the family to complete her masters degree in SOAS.
Shahidda Lamido Sanusi
The first daughter of the former Emir of Kano to complete a masters degree from Soas University is Shahidda Lamido Sanusi.
She completed her masters degree in Public Policy and Management in 2018. This was shortly after she finished her bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences from New York University in 2016.
Shahidda is most popular for appearing on behalf of her father in a number of events to present a paper. She is also known for foreseeing the dethronement of her father months before it finally happened.
Siddika Sanusi Lamido
Charting a similar educational background like Hafsat Lamido is Fulani Sidikka Sanusi. The only difference being the higher institutions of choice for both daughters.
While Sidikka chose Birmingham University to complete her masters degree in law, Hafsat took a similar route with her sister, Shahidda.
The high academic endeavor of the former daughters is also similar to that of their father who announced this year that he is a Phd candidate in Law at SOAS University.
SOAS and Birmingham University are two prime institutions in the United Kingdom known for their quality learning environment, innovative scholars and top-rated students.
