Many men of God have left their marriages, in variance to the words preached to their followers.
IkejaBird takes a look at pastors in Nigeria who divorced their spouses or vice-versa.
Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor
After the death of his first wife, Stella Oritsejafor in 1996 due to health complications, the former CAN chairman, and senior pastor of Word of Life Bible Church, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor married another, Mrs Helen Oritsejafor.
This relationship became shaky in 2020 as many speculations and crisis ravaged the home of the man of God.
Many church members in anonymity said the wife physically abused the man of God, which led to reports of a possible divorce in 2022.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is the founder of Loveworld Ministry popularly known as Christ Embassy.
The man of God and his former wife, Anita got divorced after 22 years of marriage. She filed for divorce in London over alleged infidelity in 2016.
The two ran the ministry until their divorce, and had two children from their marriage.
Reverend Chris Okotie
Reverend Chris Okotie is another powerful man of God, who has had a bad marriage.
The founder of Household of God church has been married twice and these two glamorous marriages ended in divorces.
The extravagant looking man of God divorced his first wife, Tina after 15 years marriage in 2008. He also divorced his second wife, Stephanie Henshaw in 2012 after they were married for four years over irreconcilable differences.
Pastor Chris Okafor
Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle ministry is another man of God with a failed marriage.
In 2014, Bessem accused the man of God of assaulting her and even shared photos of where she claimed to have allegedly been beaten by the man of God on the social media.
The two separated consequently, after many assault cases and social media controversies.
Pastor Ituah Ighodalo
Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, the senior pastor of the Trinity House Church, is among the rolls of ministers of God to have undone who their marriage ties.
Pastor Ituah Ighodalo divorced his first wife, Lucy-Ann Sunnier who was married to the man of God since 1995. He later got married to former Miss Lux, Ibidunni Ajayi in 2007.
Pastor Joshua Iginla
Popular Abuja-based pastor, Joshua Iginla is the Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly.
In 2019, The charismatic pastor made a shocking confession revealing that he and his wife Yemisi, both had children out of wedlock.
The powerful man of God also said when his wife brought an illegitimate child into their home, he pretended to have forgiven her, but instead he had his own child with another woman.
They got divorced in 2020 after the numerous controversies roaming their home.
