Victor Osimhen is considering taking legal action against his own club, Napoli after they mocked the striker on their official TikTok account.

Osimhen played a pivotal role in helping Napoli secure their first league title in over 30 years last season, scoring 31 goals across all competitions. However, a recent video posted on the club’s social media profile took an unusual and seemingly mocking tone.

The video revolved around a key moment in Napoli’s goalless draw against Bologna, where Osimhen missed a penalty that could have secured the win.

This rare miss by the Nigerian, who had already scored three goals in his first five matches of the current season, became the focus of Napoli’s peculiar video.

The video featured a sped-up voiceover, which appeared to have no real purpose other than to ridicule Osimhen for his efforts to convince the referee to award the penalty.

Osimhen’s penalty miss was emphasised in the video, and the clip abruptly ended. Napoli has not officially acknowledged the video, which was subsequently deleted from their TikTok account.

However, Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has indicated that legal action against the club is being considered, marking a highly unusual turn of events.

Calenda stated on Tuesday evening, “What transpired today on Napoli’s official TikTok platform is unacceptable. A video that mocked Victor was initially posted and then, albeit belatedly, removed.”

The FIFA agent continued, “This is a serious incident that has caused significant harm to the player and adds to the mistreatment he has endured recently, including media scrutiny and false information. We retain the right to pursue legal action and any necessary measures to safeguard Victor.”

This bizarre incident unfolds against the backdrop of ongoing contract negotiations between Osimhen and Napoli. Despite interest from several clubs, including Manchester United, Osimhen has not yet signed a new contract with Napoli, as his current deal extends until the summer of 2025.
