In response to recent rumours suggesting that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State was planning to return to Germany for a medical vacation, the state government has strongly disregarded the claims.
They labelled them as unfounded and the product of malicious intent from certain political circles.
A statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, based in Akure, the state capital, dismissed the reports as a concoction aimed at undermining the administration and distracting the public.

The story making the rounds is baseless
The government urged citizens not to be swayed by such misinformation.
“The story making the rounds is baseless, unfounded, and only a figment of the imagination of evil-minded politicians,” stated Olatunde, emphasizing the governor’s commitment to serving the people of Ondo State and advancing the state’s progress.
The statement highlighted ongoing development initiatives within the state, including the construction of a 250-bed University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital in Akure and Ondo Town.
Workers welfare is priority – Government
Additionally, projects such as the Akure flyover at Onyarubulem/Shagari Junction and the recruitment of 150 staff for the state Internal Revenue Service were mentioned as part of efforts to boost revenue generation and improve infrastructure.
The government assured that workers’ welfare was a priority, mentioning the timely payment of salaries and approval of outstanding leave bonuses.
Contrary to claims made by opposition forces, the statement emphasized the active engagement of Governor Akeredolu in state matters, addressing the needs of various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
