Omeife, the humanoid robot, was displayed during a technological event held in Dubai.
She was dressed in a red Ankara attire with a pulped hairstyle.
In the recent world of technological advancements, this robot is regarded as the first human looking robot ever built in Nigeria.
Ikejabird examines basic facts about “Omeife” Africa’s first humanoid robot.
1.The Uniccon Groups of Company
The company was responsible for building the intelligence algorithms and architectural designs of the robot.
Uniccon technology group established in 2020 is sited in Abuja.
Uniccon group CEO, Chucks Ekueme was responsible for funding and scientific input of the project
2. Omeife Size
Omeife is 6 feet (1.83 m) tall, making it a giant looking robot, almost the size of a giant giraffe’s neck and the size of a big refrigerator.
3. Omeife Multilingual
This human robot can speak native languages fluently, and this is a major advantage. Omeife has the ability to speak 8 different languages from English, French, Afrikaans, Igbo, Arabic, Kiswahili, Wazobia and pidgin languages
4. Omeife’s intelligence
The beautiful-looking robot has been equipped with Artificial Intelligence and has great ability to listen and talk on topics at the same time.
Ekueme said the robot can respond well with smiles, body gestures that match the discussion and give expected responses.
5. Omeife’s Character
This robot was built to look like a Nigerian, she was given the character of an Igbo with her name “Omeife” meaning Love.
6. Unveiling Omeife
Omoife was unveiled in Dubai at Gitex a technological event that holds annually.
The CEO while speaking about Omeife, said the humanoid can now meet people in the world and peacefully co-exist with other humans.
According to research, humanoids are needed to serve more challenging purposes such as picking bio-chemicals, running chores and other activities known to be tedious.
Moreover, many humanoids were used during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. They serve staffs in hospitals and delivery personnel for neighborhoods.
