Detectives of Ogun State Police Command, have arrested four members of a syndicate who matcheted a POS operator and burnt him to death in Ogun.
The suspects, Kehinde Saliu Jelili a.k.a Oluomo, Abiodun Akinola, Johnson Fakeye and Jamiu Akinola as confirmed by the Ogun Police Command spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi were all arrested following a report lodged at Onipanu divisional headquarters on the 18th of April 2021, by one Aanu Salaudeen who reported that, the gang had killed one Abiodun Odebunmi, a POS operator and duped him of N1.5m.
According to Ogun State command, the gang confessed further that they deliberately lured the victim to Ota where they were waiting for the POS operator with the money he was asked to bring, having transact a 1.5 million naira business with him the previous day, and that they matcheted him to death after collecting the money from him.
He stated further that they burnt the victim’s body in order to cover the crime.
