Renowned Nigerian clergyman, Sam Adeyemi has asserted that no politician can transform Nigeria in four or eight years.
The head pastor of Daystar Christian Center made this assertion while appearing on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday morning.
He highlighted that there was a need to discuss the kind of leadership that Nigerians desire.
According to him, discussing what Nigerians want would then serve as a path to guide the activities of Nigerian leaders.
“I would say the discussion needs to start with Nigerians, what kind of Nigeria do we want? we need to discuss it and we need to ask the people in leadership, in government to let us start from there. you do not build a house from the roof, lets discuss it. I remember 2014 we spent billions of naira having that discussion, the report is buried somewhere, we’ve not had the courage to discuss again,” the clergyman said.

“That is where to start from, If you do not agree on where you are going, any road will take you to where you are going and you should not complain if you find yourself in a jungle, lets discuss where we are going and that would be leadership from the level of the people, that would then give those who go into government what to do, just your own part, do the four years, eight years, move on leave the job to somebody else let them continue, nobody is going to transform Nigeria in four years or eight years we have to agree on that,” he added.
His remark comes as President Bola Tinubu’s administration continues to struggle to resuscitate the country’s ailing economy.
Recall that Tinubu, like other politicians, made a series of promises aimed at reviving the country’s economy during his presidential campaign. However, months into his rule, Nigerians have continued to face significant hardship as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy.
