Morocco proved too strong for Africa Cup of Nations debutants Comoros, winning 2-0 in Yaoundé to book their place in the last 16.
Gabon put one foot in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) knockout stages after striking late to salvage a 1-1 draw with Ghana. The ‘Black Stars’ led for over 70 minutes until Jim Allevinah’s late strike broke their hearts in Yaoundé.


Gabadinho Mhango (Malawi) meets a perfect cross from Francisco Madinga deep inside the box and controls it with a nice first touch. He produces a low shot into the middle of the goal. The score has changed to 1:1.

Goal! The ball breaks to Gabadinho Mhango (Malawi) after some poor defending, he finds himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and calmly puts the ball into the back of the net! He makes it 2:1.

Goal! Selim Amallah (Morocco) pounced on a loose ball inside the box and beats the goalkeeper with a shot inside the right post. He makes it 1:0.

The goal stands! That took a long time for referee Sadok Selmi to decide it wasn’t offside. The relieved Morocco players can finally celebrate.

Goal! Great link up play between Andre Ayew (Ghana) and Thomas Partey gives the former a clear sight of goal on the edge of the box. He doesn’t disappoint and beats the keeper in the bottom left corner. 0:1.

An amazing individual effort from Jim Allevinah (Gabon) ends with a strike from inside the penalty area. He sends the ball precisely into the bottom right corner and makes it 1:1. Joe Wollacott was helpless.
