Nigerians have taken to social media to criticize Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who revealed that senators had received money to enjoy their holiday. 

In a viral video, Akpabio informed the senators that funds were being deposited into their bank accounts, leading to widespread backlash from Nigerians online.

The incident occurred during the Senate’s ministerial screening when Akpabio mentioned, “To facilitate our holiday enjoyment, a sum has been deposited into our accounts by the National Assembly’s clerk.”

The Senate President’s video 

The incident was caught on camera, and some senators even alerted Akpabio to the live television broadcast. 

This announcement sparked criticism of both Akpabio and the country’s leadership on social media. 

The Senate had recently completed the screening of 45 out of 48 ministerial nominees sent by President Bola Tinubu.

Activist Timi Frank calls for senate President Akpabio’s resignation 

In another news, Activist Timi Frank has criticized the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, for revealing that money had been sent to all senators by the National Assembly for their annual vacation. 

In a video message, Frank expressed his concerns about Akpabio’s statement and called for his resignation as Senate President.

Frank described Akpabio’s disclosure on national TV as a mockery of democracy and the Nigerian people.
