President Bola Tinubu inaugurated his newly appointed ministers on Monday, setting a tone of high expectations and urging them to work diligently to fulfill the expectations of Nigerians.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Conference Hall in the Presidential Villa, attended by dignitaries including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, and Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila.
In his address to the ministers, Tinubu stressed the importance of serving the country with integrity, dignity, and a commitment to deliver on their various assignments.

I will hold you to account
He acknowledged that the challenges before them could be daunting but emphasized the government’s determination to introduce a renewed sense of hope to the nation.
“The greatest number of Nigerians are highly expectant. They believe that you will serve with integrity and deliver. I will hold you to account,” President Tinubu stated firmly.
He also reminded the ministers that their responsibilities commence immediately and encouraged them to rebuild faith in governance, thereby instilling belief among the governed in the government’s ability to bring about positive transformation.

“I welcome you to the administration of Renewed Hope. We are in this boat; this is a vehicle and I am the driver. The entire Nigerians are watching as we navigate this vehicle. We have to do the job to meet the expectations of all Nigerians,” he asserted.
Tinubu made it clear that these ministers are accountable to the entire country, not just a specific region or state.
He emphasized that their positions carry tremendous responsibility and that they are entrusted with the task of fostering public confidence in the government’s ability to drive progress.
The president’s message was resolute and rooted in the belief that the government can indeed be a force for positive change. He called upon the new ministers to work together as a cohesive team to tackle the nation’s challenges and deliver tangible results.
He is confident in their abilities
The event marked the formal swearing-in of 45 ministers, each of whom was assigned specific portfolios. Notable appointments included former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike as Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Festus Keyamo as Minister of Aviation.
Among other ministerial assignments were Wale Edun (Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy), Adegboyega Oyetola (Transportation), David Umahi (Works), and Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation).
President Tinubu concluded by expressing his confidence in the abilities of the new cabinet members and his optimism for the impact they will collectively make on the nation.

Meanwhile, the Senate has unveiled President Bola Tinubu’s list with 28 ministerial nominees.
The names were announced by the Senate President, GodsWill Akpabio, during Thursday’s plenary.
The list of ministerial nominees was hand-delivered by Femi Gbajabiamila, who is both the Chief of Staff and a former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
