Several attack-oriented Nigerian players across Europe represented themselves well over the weekend as they made it to the scoresheet for their respective clubs.
Gift Monday, a 21-year-old female forward, scored two goals to help her Spanish team Tenerife beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 in the Primera División Femenina.
In the Premier League, Ola Aina, who is otherwise known for his defensive contribution, stepped up to be a goalscorer on Sunday, November 5. Aina scored a goal in Nottingham Forest’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa at the City Ground to become the only Nigerian player to score in the Premier League last weekend.
In the Netherlands, Chuba Akpom scored two goals to help his new club, Ajax, defeat SC Heerenveen 4-1 in the Eredivisie at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Victor Boniface was very instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen’s 2-3 win over Hoffenheim, who also have Super Eagles player Kevin Akpogumab on their team. While Boniface couldn’t record a goal, he provided two assists that sealed the away victory as his total goals contribution so far this season extends to 12.
In Switzerland, Samuel Kalu was the star man for his club, Lausanne-Sport as he scored a goal and provided an assist in the club’s 3-1 win over Lugano.
