Nigerian man drills village students after they failed 2023 JAMB

On social media, a Nigerian techie named Alex Onyia received praise for the academic programme he established for kids in his town after they failed 2023 UTME.

Only a couple of his village’s students narrowly avoided failing in the 2023 UTME, according to Alex, who stated this on X.

CEO of Educare Alex claimed that rather of waiting for the government, he and his team used a new strategy to address the UTME issue.

The students participate in rigorous morning and evening drills and are required to take CBT once a month. 

Alex explained: “We took the challenge upon ourselves for it not to repeat itself again. Every youngster in my village right now is on an intensive morning and evening drilling for next year’s Jamb and they undertake CBT once monthly with large pool of 16 years past questions across different subjects.”

Failed 2023 UTME exams results in initiative 

Alex said he noticed they were not computer literate. “One common thing we noticed is that many of the youngsters are alien to computers and can’t even use a mouse nor keyboards. How were they planning to succeed in jamb when they could had probably be using a computer for the first time on Jamb day?”

The expert went on to mention that the goal for the UTME in 2024 is a success rate of 90% and spoke about scholarships for top candidates.

“It’s an eye opener and our mission is for all of them to score above 250. We will be paying for all their jamb exam fees and are also offering full scholarship to everyone that scores 300 and above.”

Mmesoma Ejikeme apologises to JAMB over results forgery 

Meanwhile, Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma has publicly expressed her heartfelt apologies to Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), as well as Nigerians 

Mmesoma, the 19-year-old candidate involved in the UTME result forgery, pleaded with  the JAMB Registrar to reconsider the three-year ban that was imposed on her

Ishaq Oloyede, the JAMB Registrar, and other high-ranking board directors attended the hearing.
