In the latest FIFA ranking, Nigeria’s Super Eagles have retained their 40th place in the world, which is the same as last month.
Nigeria played two international games in October, drawing 2-2 with Saudi Arabia and defeating Mozambique 3-2, both held in Portugal.

In Africa, Nigeria remains in the sixth position, with Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt ahead of them.
Nigeria is ranked higher than their Group A opponents in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), particularly Ivory Coast. In the AFCON draw, Nigeria was placed in the same group as Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau

Nigeria is also ranked higher than their West African rival, Ghana, which is 60th in the world.
Nigeria’s ranking puts them ahead of nations like Erling Haaland’s Norway and the Republic of Ireland in the most recent ranking.
Argentina remains on top as France came in second with Brazil as the third.
