NEWS FLASH: ASUU embarks on one-month strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a four-week stirke. It described it as “comprehensive and total” strike.

The strike will take effect from Monday 14th February.

The National President of the union, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke announced this in a press conference t on Monday in Lagos after the meeting of the National Executive Council of the union tagged ‘NEC for NEC.’

Members of the union’s National Executive Council including ASUU leaders in campuses across the country held marathon meetings at the weekend.

The union’s demands include funding for revitalisation of public universities, earned academic allowances, University Transparency Accountability Solution,among others.
