On Tuesday, October 17th, Lagos State government finally reopened Ladipo Market, Mushin, causing jubilation amongst traders.

Ikejabird recalls that the market, alongside a few others, was closed down in September as a result of unhygienic premises.

The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, finally ordered that Ladipo be reopened so that business activities could commence.

The news was well received by traders who gathered in their numbers to celebrate the reopening of the market.

In a circulating viral video, an unidentified man fired shots in the air with an AK-47 as the traders jubilated.

Netizens however, raised concerns regarding the shots fired during the market celebration, urging for a thorough investigation.

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, assured that the Lagos State Command will look into the matter.

Ladipo is one of the most popular spare parts markets in Lagos State.
