Chairman/Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd) said the agency has set up a special task force to crack cartels responsible for producing and distributing methamphetamine (Mkpuru Mmiri).
He disclosed this in Abuja on Monday 24th January, 2022 at a press briefing to mark his first anniversary as Chairman/Chief Executive of the agency.
Spokesperson of the agency, Femi Babafemi, also in a statement on Monday disclosed that Marwa urged communities across the country to join the war against drug abuse as those in South East states were doing.
Nevertheless, Marwa said NDLEA does not support the flogging of the culprits and some of the other human rights abuses.
He said the agency will be there to support with counseling and treatments.
Marwa vowed to continue the mandate to ensure a drug-free country.
