The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the highest body of lawyers in Nigeria, has outrightly demanded justice for Barrister Bolanle Raheem.
NBA in a statement released by its National Publicity Secretary, Akorede Lawal, described the incident surrounding Bolanle’s death as unfortunate and tragic.
It also assured that all hands are on deck to ensure that the culprits are brought to law, adding that Yakubu Maikyau, NBA national president, is monitoring the situation.
Ikeja Bird recalls that Bolanle was shot dead on Sunday, December 25, by a trigger-happy officer attached to Ajah area in Lagos.
Lagos police in a statement released by its Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin has condemned the killing, saying the errant officer and his team have been taken into custody for indepth investigation.
NBA said it would ensure justice is served.
“We are aware of this unfortunate incident. This is yet another crime against a lawyer. Regrettably, our member is gone. The NBA President @YCMaikyauSAN is right on this and we shall ensure that justice is duly served,” Akorede said in a tweet.
