The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Nigeria has issued a warning about Whippy Real Mayonnaise.
According to their statement on Monday, the mayonnaise was found to change color before its expiry date.
The agency received a consumer complaint, which led to an investigation by their post-marketing surveillance unit in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Laboratory analysis of whippy Mayonnaise
The products were locally sourced from the manufacturer, SNF FOODS Limited, in Onitsha, Anambra State.
After conducting laboratory analysis, NAFDAC discovered that the mayonnaise had become rancid and had a different color than the original mayonnaise, even though it was still within its shelf life.
As a result, they advise against consuming this product.

In another news, On Monday night, the Federal Government released a joint press statement signed by Dr. Columba Vakuru, Chief Veterinary Officer of Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Dr. Ifedayo Adetifa, Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The statement revealed that a risk assessment conducted by the human health sector indicated a high chance of anthrax outbreak in the country, with a significant potential impact on humans.
