A man got married to two women, Safiya Tanimu Nasidi and Maryam on the same day, with both weddings held at different mosques in Niger State.
Umar Sani, as the young man is called, said that his polygamous background had a major role to play in his choice of two wives. He also shared that he always wanted to marry more than one wife, maybe three or even four.
His parents were however shocked at his choice to marry more than one wife at once, but they remained supportive.

He described his feelings like one who is in paradise and was very glad at his decision.
In an interview with a Minna-based online newspaper, Mr Sani on the wedding day, Friday 3rd March 2023 said this:
“I feel as if I have been given a space in paradise, I’m extremely grateful to Allah and my joy is immeasurable.”

“I thank God I’m happily married to two brides. Both of them are understanding, and I’m grateful for that.”
“A lot of people have thought there would be issues from either of them, but God in his wisdom, has made things perfect.”
“Since I was 10, I saw my father having four wives and I saw the way they lived peacefully. I made a promise to myself that I would marry more than one wife if I had my way, or marry three or four same day”.
“My parents were surprised because even my father didn’t marry two wives on the same day. But they didn’t oppose it. The most important thing for us right now is to have a peaceful home.”
He also received congratulatory messages on Facebook from his friends,am and was featured in a video with Nuruddeen on his wedding day

Interestingly, both couples died hours apart in what has been described as a happy ending to real-life love story.
Hubert and June Malicote, who were married in June 8, 1943, died 20 hours apart last week, according to their family source. Both were born in July 1922.
