Morocco upset Belgium as Germany survive early World Cup exit

Africa’s biggest win at the Qatar 2022 was recorded by Morocco following their 2-0 win over Belgium.

The Atlas Lions were more purposeful in the game as they profited from a set piece.

Abdelhamid Sabiri’s 72nd minute free-kick evaded everyone in the box including Thibaut Courtois to make it 1-0.

Zakaria Aboukhlal put the icing on the cake as he angled in his shot into the roof of the net as it finished 2-0.

Croatia vs Canada

The Eastern European side were too good for the Canadians as they recorded a 4-1 win.

Alphonse Davies opened the scoring for Canada before Andrej Kramaric evened the scores.

Marko Livaja made 2-1 a minute before half time nefore substitute Kramaric completed his brace in the 70th minute.

Croatia were not done as substitute Lovro Maher scored in injury time to complete his team’s dominant display.

Costa Rica vs Japan

No one was expecting the Costa Ricans to bounce back against a side that defeated Germany as well as losing 7-0 to Spain, but the reverse was the case.

The only goal of the match was scored by Fuller Spence nine minutes from time to keep the North Americans hopes of qualifying as it ended 1-0.

Germany vs Spain

The top two sides in Group F clashed in an entertaining fixture played at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Antonio Rudiger’s goal was canceled for offside but Alvaro Morata put the Spaniards ahead in the 62nd minute.

Germany were on the brink of crashing out but a late strike by Niclas Fullkrug saved their blushes as they head into their last group game against Costa Rica. 1-1 it ended.
